The Lieutenant Governor

As the Queen’s representative in Newfoundland and Labrador, it is both a pleasure and a privilege to offer my congratulations to everyone involved in this year’s Corner Brook Winter Carnival.  Not only is it one of the province’s premiere winter events, but it also provides the residents of our wonderful west coast and visitors from all over, a welcome winter break to share the fun of the Carnival’s many activities.

The Winter Carnival’s roots go back to the 1960’s but the first official event was held in 1972 and the Carnival continues to attract thousands of participants year after year.  Because of the dedicated leadership of the organizing committee and the hard work of countless volunteers, it continues to grow and is a credit to the City of Corner Brook.

I look forward to my time here and enjoying the winter fun the Carnival always provides.

A heartfelt thank you to the organizing committee and once again, congratulations to all involved.

Best wishes for your success this year and for years to come.
