FAREWELL

To wake up yesterday morning and have no Winter Carnival to look forward to was a mood destroyer!

On a high for 10 days, with all the Carnival fun, all the Carnival food and all the Carnival friends, Leif and Mrs Leif, the Ambassadors Claire and Jesse and Leifling Odin to look forward to seeing, made each day special. With them not there was a real downer. It was just a blah day!

My thanks go to everyone involved. Roger was an amazing Chair and I'm confident Michael will be so next year. All the committee members were wonderful, well organized and fun to be with. I'll miss you all.

Thanks for making me your Patron. An experience I'll never forget.

Good bye Carnival 2018. You were great. See you anew in 2019!

THE AMAZING RACE

Well organized time driving around the city picking up clues. Such fun watching our Leifling really get into this event. I think its his favourite one.

THE CLOSING CEREMONIES

A very well organized (headed by Pam) and attended event at the Legion with music, hot dogs, cup cakes, candy, clowns, dancing, mascots, coffee, cake, old friends, new friends and some very moving speeches. Great prizes too!

This was followed by a moving hymn sing at the Salvation Army Temple (on Citadel Drive!!!). I love snging to a band accompaniment and Wendy Woodland is a wonderful band leader. The hymns themselves are projected onto a large screen. Again some moving speeches, The transferring to the carnival scarf to the new Chair, Michael Saunders and once again a fine feast in the basement!!!

i already miss Carnival!!!

THE FINAL WEEKEND

As with every other day, these finals days proved wonderful. As usual there was plenty of great food for all three meals each day!!! (I think I've put on 10 pounds over the 10 days). The team on the bus are alot of fun and the three oyounger people amazing to hang with. I have to say the future of Corner Brook is in great hands if Jesse, Claire and Odin are any indication.

And then there's the committee. Mostly veterans of many Carnivals, they still possess a wonderful sense of fun and enliven every day with stories, songs and lively conversation. Chair Roger is quite the musician and yesterday we heard some of his music played thorugh the speakersystem on the bus. They are wonderful!

I'll miss them all when this ride finally comes to an end. But they are now friends and will be forever.
